A couple of changes. I added a field for jabber to the profile. I have also now added in some gpsd client functionality. If you select gps at the login prompt it will use gpsd to automatically obtain location. Well it would if gpsd was running on my Neo. Until that works I have coded it to connect to a remote gpsd for testing purposes. New client available:
ipkg install http://zedstar.org/ipk/2007.2/thumbtribes-client_0.04_armv4t.ipk
I will be attending mobileCampLondon at the end of this month. There will be some OpenMoko people there and hopefully a few people with Neo’s.
I have started to tidy up the profile layout and add more fields. There is now an “interests” section. Screen shot available here. The new client is available:
ipkg install http://zedstar.org/ipk/2007.2/thumbtribes-client_0.03_armv4t.ipk
I have packaged up a very early version of the thumbtribes client for OpenMoko. More details about trying it out can be found on thumbtribes.mobi
The source code is available here. The GTK+ interface code is a bit of a mess at the moment but you can get the idea!
Right now this is an experiment to see if any other users can get the software up and runnining on their phones and to share some ideas.
I have built my application for 2007.2 OpenMoko environment. The changes in looks can be seen here. I quite like the look of the new GUI. The application has some odd dependencies in this version which did not show up in 2007.1. There is also an extra keyboard that appears but does not work for the password prompt. I was able to run the previous keyboard from the application menu.
I have built a version for 2007.2 platforms.
